There were open tables outside and they would not allow us to sit outside. We think it was because we were non-residents. We had to wait 15 minutes to process our tab payment. The food was good but the rest was a hassle. Also this will be feedback to restaurant.com: you need to state in the terms that there is a $16 upcharge for non-residents added to your bill. What a disappointment. The Coconut Shrimp Appetizer was not completely cooked and we had to send that back. Although I asked to not receive a replacement, the Chef insisted on doing so and we accepted; the second batch was thoroughly cooked as it should be, but by that time I wasn't interested. I had a burger and it was "just a burger", no big deal, which one would expect at that exorbitant price! My daughter had a Crab Cake Sandwich and left most of it except for the top bun. My husband's meal was the best (Fish and Chips) and he had no complaint. Again, Alexa was most attentive and understanding. She saved this rating from being submitted as "Poor". When it came time to pay the bill, the Restaurant.com certificate was immediately accepted. I wanted to use a VISA Gift Card I had received that day, and poor Alexa couldn't get it to work in any way/shape/form. Since then I've validated today that the VISA Gift Card DOES WORK . . . . why it was unable to be used at Backwater Jacks is a mystery; which, then, caused me to charge over $100 on my credit card which I did not want to do.
